The Ain as it passes through Gervasa

The Ain is a slow moving river which descends from the Gothic Mountains until it passes through Gervasa and empties into the Sea of Mri. The Ain used to pass through Gervasa well east of its current location, but it changed course dramatically a thousand years ago, flooding entire neighborhoods. The river is dangerous to most river traffic because of the towers and steeples which still can be seen above its surface. It is rumoured that dangerous creatures make their homes in the murky darkness of the flooded buildings, particularly the Imperial Library, the spires of which rise needle-like a dozen feet out of the water.
